Defeating Burnout - a Guide for Working Mothers
A new eBook for some of you overworked and/or burned out moms!
I am happy to introduce my new eBook, Defeating Burnout - A Guide for Working Mothers. Its focus is on the high prevalence of burnout among working mothers today, and it reviews all the factors that push us to the edge of that cliff. This short book is meant to be a practical guide for busy moms. In it, I share my personal experiences with burnout at different stages of my career.
Content and Structure:
The eBook includes practical advice, checklists to identify burnout, checklists for approaching your self-assessment, descriptions of burnout signs and symptoms, and explanations of the physiology of stress, and the most effective recovery processes. There are specific strategies offered for preventing burnout from recurring.
Practical Examples:
In this short book, I share personal anecdotes to make it more relatable and practical for working mom readers. After speaking with many groups of young working mothers, mostly professionals, I have targeted the factors that they reported to burden them the most.

Discussion Highlights:
With many years experiencing the (im)balance of career and motherhood, I wanted to highlight the challenges of doing this seemingly impossible task - balancing a demanding career with motherhood. My personal experiences have shaped my approach to dealing with burnout, as well as some new found scientific rationale. I had much to learn from the two episodes of burnout that I suffered in my career, one at age 42 and another at age 60.
It’s important to recognize burnout early, before you are totally fried, and to understand the recovery strategies available to you. It is also crucial to experiment with long-term prevention techniques for have for back-up. My book addresses how to make better choices to prevent burnout from happening again, both professionally and personally.
